Romsley
The following is an extract from Doreen Clarke's notes:
"I was born at Romsley in 1926, the house (the Police Station) was new and we were the first family to move in there. Father (AHC) cultivated the garden and kept hens and a cockerel called Billy, he used to peck the dog's nose so that was the end of Billy.
Father was out all hours of the day and night, walking the beat and meeting with other policemen. He was out in all weathers, but he was very young then."
AHC's remarks for 1929
Below are two pages of text which are AHC's remarks for 1929. In general, 1929 seems to have been quite a good year, although the last few sentences might suggest otherwise.
