William Joseph Clarke

William Joseph Clarke was born in Birmingham in 1874.  He married Ada May Pinfield-Wells on Christmas Day, 1894 at St Stephens Church in Birmingham. William and Ada set up home in the Redditch area and William worked at the BSA bicycle factory in Redditch as a foreman.

William and Ada had three children; William Thomas, born in 1896, Ada May, born in 1898 and Albert Henry born in 1899.

William Thomas Clarke married Elsie Bennett.  They had four children, Kenneth, Ronald, Maurice and Gladys.

Ada May Clarke never married and died at an early age in 1940 – please see Ada’s page.

Albert Henry Clarke married Alice Maud Stanley.  They had four children, Dennis, Dorothy, Doreen and Deirdre. Deirdrie died on the day she was born.  Sadly, Alice died when she was 43.

Albert re-married to Margaret Wilson Taylor and they had four children.
